Gottlieb Daimer
Gottlieb Daimer was born in Germany. He was an early expert on the internal-combustion engine (an engine that uses the power of fossil fuel, air and spark to drive the piston) and the development of automobiles. Daimer is credited with the invention of the first four-wheel automobile and his high speed gasoline engine. Gottlieb Daimer and Wilhelm Mayback, Daimer's life long business partner were two inventors who's goals were to have their small gasoline engine mounted in any vehicle. In 1885, the partners created the first motorcycle that was able to use their engine to drive. A year later they invented the first boat to have an engine. They also created a type of covered wagon but it did not use an engine as it was pulled by horses instead. This was made to transport goods and passengers.
